The Bank named leading UK development in international awards programme

Birmingham’s newest residential skyscraper, developed by Regal Property Group and owned by real estate investment company Aprirose, has been recognised as one of the leading UK developments of the year in a prestigious industry awards programme.

The Bank, which is being built next to Brindleyplace on Sheepcote Street, has been named the best High Rise Residential Development in the UK at the International Property Awards.

The Bank has acted as the catalyst for redevelopment along Broad Street, and features 406 one, two and three-bedroom apartments across two towers measuring 22 and 33 storeys. The highest tower stands over 100m tall and is Birmingham’s newest residential skyscraper.

Once the development is complete, residents at The Bank will benefit from a 24-hour concierge service, access to a private gym, residents lounge and coffee bar, a private kitchen and dining room, on-site cycle storage and secure and private outdoor green space. Retail space has also been created on the ground floor.

Gary Jones, COO at Aprirose, said: “The Bank is our first large scale residential development in the UK, providing high-quality apartments in Birmingham. The city has a strong appeal as a place to live and work and we are delighted to be a part of its fabric. We are pleased to have won this award for our modern scheme, which is a tribute to the quality and professional team assembled for the project.”

Mark Holbeche, from developer Regal Property Group, said: “The Bank has been designed to be a landmark residential scheme for Birmingham, and to see it be named as the leading development of its kind in the UK is a fantastic result for everybody who has worked on the project.

“The ambitious project aimed to create a building with a unique and striking design which provides apartments which match any specification in the city centre and we’re thrilled with the progress we have made.

“It’s been a challenging site to work on given the scale of the scheme and its city centre location, but there has been positive feedback from those purchasing apartments so far. We’re into the final stages of the build process, and we’re excited to see the final product and welcome new residents to a fantastic new community.”

The UK Property Awards are in their 26th year and are the largest, most prestigious, and widely recognised programme throughout the regions.

Judged by an independent panel of over 80 industry professionals, attention is paid to a developments’ design, quality, service, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability.
