Tallest residential skyscraper in Birmingham unveiled

The first images of what will become the tallest new-build residential tower in Birmingham have been unveiled ahead of the launch of the first apartments at the development.

Once complete, the second tower at The Bank, located between Broad Street and Brindleyplace, will be 33 storeys high and feature 217 apartments, and will be one of only two residential skyscrapers to measure over 100m tall in the city.

The second phase of The Bank, which is being developed by Regal Property Group and funded by Aprirose Real Estate, will include a range of one and two bedroom apartments, as well as a private gym for residents and ground floor retail space. Construction on the second tower is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019.

A launch event will take place at the Novotel on Broad Street on Thursday October 11th between 4pm and 8pm, where guests will get the chance to tour a show apartment and be one of the first to purchase a new home.

The Bank was designed by Birmingham based architects, Glancy Nicholls and is being delivered by Wates Construction. The first tower, standing 21 storeys high, has now been completed and the first residents have now moved into their new homes.

Mark Holbeche, Regal Property Group, said: “Work is now well underway on the second tower at The Bank and we’re thrilled to see it start to come to life. To be developing what will become the tallest residential building in Birmingham is incredibly exciting and we’re looking forward to launching the new homes here.

“The first tower has been a huge success. Over 70% of homes here were sold from plan and attracted interest from a wide range of different buyers, including young professionals, investors and first time buyers and early signs suggest the second phase will prove to be as popular.

“This is a striking development which offers a fantastic standard of city living. It’s perfectly situated for amenities, bars and restaurants and major employers in the city centre and the location has been a huge factor in many people’s decision to move to The Bank.”
